Region 4 Mobile Communications Unit(MCU)

CT Ares region 4 and the members of w1oem have devoted much time and energey with the assistance of funding resources from the Connecticut department of emergency management and emergency services to build a rapidly deployable communications unit that can support many different planned and unplanned events.

The MCU is equiped with multiple radios to provide servce on all common bands and interfaces used in connecticut. the MCU is equipped with Dual band kenwood TM-D710 to provide common everyday communication through analog voice on 2m and 440cm, as well as APRS and Winlink. the mcu aslo has Dstar, and DMR capabilities and has HF radios as well. in the comming months the MCU will be adding Digital HF to its abilities. the MCU also includs a cach of mobile and portable DMR kits for deployment.
